I want oyu girls, to think about Frank McCourt's religion beliefs... I notice that in his Irish culture religion is very imporant. Frank got baptized, he did his communion, and his confirmation(which he couldnt collect money because he got extremely sick)I notice that he has to confess when he makes a sin, many of us are catholic and we've done our confirmation and stuff but I know that i wouldnt confess to a priest. this shows that his culture is very religious.
tell me what you think...

  1. Since I'm not Catholic I didn't have a first communion or confirmation. In the Greek Orthodox religion when we are baptized we recive our communion then. So I never experienced those things. But in the Greek Orthodox religion we do have confession. I have never been to confession because I think it is really wierd to talk about my sins to a priest. Since my dad is a priest, religion is very big in my life and I can relate to Frank, since religion is very important in his life too.

  2. I'm Greek Orthodox, too. for confession, all we do is have priests ask us in general if we lied, cheated, etc. and just say yes to everything.. But I think Frank's religion is really strict and I would shoot myself if I had to confess every single little thing I did. I also think that some of it is made up by his parents and teacher to scare him into doing, or not doing, some things
